The Massage and Treatment Clinic has always maintained a welcoming, safe, comfortable and experienced environment for all ages and abilities, from children to seniors to athletes, we offer premium hands on care for the entire body, whether it is to treat chronic pain, prevent or treat injuries, reduce stress/anxiety or increase your mobility, our focus is to maintain as much quality of life as possible for our patients.

The Story of our Logo The Goddess Nike

The Massage and Treatment Clinic was founded and is owned by two strong women, we chose the Greek Goddess Nike to represent our clinic because she is the Goddess of Strength, Speed and Victory, we know how debilitating pain can be and we felt having her as our representative would let the world know we are here for you to achieve Victory over your health.  Nike’s image is on all Olympic medals, she adorns the World Cup Soccer trophy and inspired the symbols for Rolls Royce and Honda.

Accessibility and Equipment

At the clinic we will assess your situation and recommend the best treatment plan catered specifically to your needs, we offer quality equipment and treatment options, from electric lift/tilt tables, pregnancy pillows, Specialized chairs for those who can’t lie down, Physical modalities (Ultrasound, TENS, LASER, IFC, heating pads/Heated tables) and we are always open to accommodate individual requirements as needs change.  The Clinic is  accessible with one barrier free room, please notify reception at time of booking if this option is required.  Direct access off the 174 highway and located across the street from Place D’Orleans transit station and future LRT station with plenty of free accessible parking.

Direct Billing Options

The Clinic is fully Licenced with FSCO (Financial services commission of Ontario) and can directly bill for Motor Vehicle Accident claims and WSIB being a preferred provider of the Insurance industry.  The Clinic and all practitioners are registered with Blue Cross for RCMP, CAF  and Veterans.  A receipt is provided after every treatment with the registration number of the practitioner for claiming under your extended health benefits (Massage Therapy, Chiropractic or Acupuncture is not covered under OHIP or ODSP, a prescription is not required to receive service).

We only hire registered and licensed Health Professionals, we provide ongoing training to our staff with professional development days and encourage continuing education so you can be completely confident and comfortable regardless of what condition you are presenting with.  We value you as a patient and promise to maintain strong communication to know exactly what your needs are and create a treatment plan that will provide you with the most efficient effective results.

Meet the Clinic Owners

Amanda-Lyn Smith, RMT

Registered Massage Therapist and Owner

In 2000, Amanda graduated from The Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy in Newmarket Ontario. After less than three years of practice, at the age of 22, Amanda opened The Massage and Treatment Clinic in 2003 with Julie Tessier Woodcock.

Amanda prides herself on her effective techniques, and extensive experience with Chronic conditions, Motor Vehicle Accident victims, TMJ dysfunction, concussions, Pelvic Pain, migraine/headache issues. Amanda provides effective pain relief and with get you mobile again, her techniques involve a Myofascial Approach, RAPID Neural-fascial reset accompanied with traditional massage and a love for effectively using LASER on arthritis, scar tissue and acute inflamed/swollen conditions.  Amanda enjoys getting right to the point of things with a direct efficient approach.  In 2017 Amanda won health professional of the year by the Business Excellence Awards having been a finalist the year previous.

Amanda has a passion to be involved in the local community, she served as a board director at the Ottawa Board of Trade, previously a Director on the board at the Orleans Chamber of Commerce 2013-2018, Amanda Chaired the OBoT Economic Growth committee. Amanda helped create the Orleans Economic Strategic Plan in 2017, Orleans Economic Symposium in 2016 and 2017 and initiated the Orleans for your Business Magazines in 2016/2017, she was involved in the efforts to bring Light Rail to the East end extending to Trim road.  Amanda loves providing professional development mentorship to her staff, lectures at Algonquin on Modalities in practice, marketing and growing the clinic, and spending time with her family.

 Julie Tessier-Woodcock BSc,

In 2001, Julie graduated from The International Academy of Massage in Ottawa Ontario. Before completing her massage diploma, Julie graduated from The University of Ottawa receiving a degree in Human Kinetics in 1998. Julie also received over 13 years of experience in management in her previous career and is fully Bilingual.

Julie has worked along with triathletes and competitive runners (running being a passion of hers). Julie has also worked in a Physiotherapy Clinic. In 2003, after less than two years of practice, Julie opened The Massage and Treatment Clinic with Amanda-Lyn Smith.

Julie prides herself on her deep tissue techniques and in working with Athletes along with a love of giving Pregnancy Massage and working with young mothers. Julie has extensive experience working with Motor Vehicle Accident victims and individuals suffering from chronic pain particularly Parkinsons.  Julie is certified in Hot Stone Massage, acupressure, RAPID Neural Fascial Reset and In the future, she is looking forward to increasing her skills and knowledge in Acupuncture.  Julie uses a traditional massage approach accompanying the use of modalities such as electrotherapy, LASER and ultrasound to provide effective results.

Julie loves spending time with her busy family with many activities.
